Neither biodiesel nor GTL fuel contain aromatics or sulfur that typically limit blending ratios with conventional diesel. GTL fuel improves the low temperature flow properties associated with biodiesel and provides increased viscosity. Biodiesel, on the other hand, increases the density of GTL fuel without reducing its low energy density. When biodiesel is used as an alternative base fuel, more (50%) biodiesel can be blended with GTL fuel than the standard 20% blend of conventional diesel.
