This invention discloses an AR model method and a device for reducing mean power ratio of the OFDM system, which converts the parallel input sequences of the OFDM modulation signals to signals similar to white noises to reduce its self-correlation so as to reduce the PAPR of the OFDM system and complexity of computation, in which, an AR model mapping device is added at the sending end and an inverse AR model mapping device is added at the receiving end and the AR model mapping device includes an AR model unit, a mean power regulating parameter unit, a function transferring unit, a difference equation unit, a sideband information combination unit and a combining unit, the inverse AR model mapping device includes a separating unit, a sideband information splitting unit, a function transferring unit and a difference equation unit, which only needs one time of IFFT conversion and linear transformation to reduce the mean power ratio of a system peak so as to reduce the complexity of the system.
