Benefits of technology

[0006]The object of the present invention is to provide a brush that effectively removes sand from skin and sporting equipment such as surfboards and beach chairs, is comfortable to the skin, durable, attractive, and economic enough for the beachside marketplace. The present invention is a brush with a simple handle made of plastic that can be fabricated in attractive sporting colors and with a double-sided brush-head having bristles of two different stiffnesses, one on each side.

Problems solved by technology

The use of buckets or bottles of water can be clumsy, and after use, the wet items often attract more sand.
And, such buckets or bottles are not always readily available.
The use of towels to rub-off sand is rarely totally effective, since the fabric itself retains sand, and then the fabric deposits the sand back onto skin or into a car or wherever it is put next.

Embodiment Construction

[0010]The present invention is a brush with a simple handle made of plastic that can be fabricated in attractive sporting colors, and with bristles of two different stiffnesses, one on each side of the brush-head. The softer bristles will be comfortable to the skin and effective for finer types of sand, found for example on Gulf beaches. A Shore hardness near 60 would be sufficient for this purpose. The firmer bristles will be more effective on sporting equipment and for coarser types of sand, found for example on Ocean beaches. A Shore hardness near 70 would be sufficient for this purpose. To keep the cost of manufacturing down, and to facilitate use in crevices, such as the curves in the metal frames of beach chairs, this set of bristles is smaller. It will also be most cost-efficient for the bristles to be of a consistent length. The brush-handle will be made of plastic rather than wood, which would absorb moisture, or metal, which would tarnish or rust. The general size of the b...
