Cigarette paper and dispensing package

a technology of cigarette paper and dispensing package, which is applied in the direction of packaging goods, tobacco, flexible article container, etc., can solve the problems of user difficulty in grasping a single cigarette paper, cigarette paper typically tear easily, and user adverse effects, etc., to facilitate the raising of the rear flap, facilitate access to contents, and facilitate the effect of raising the flap

Benefits of technology

[0005]It is an advantage of the invention to provide a vertically-oriented cigarette paper dispensing package with a rear flap with one or a plurality of perforated segments which inserts into a horizontal slot, thereby storing it for later use, and a method for assemblage of the same. It is a further advantage of the invention to provide one or more of the perforated segments of the rear flap of the package which may be used as a mouthpiece filter for use in conjunction with the cigarette paper to help prevent tobacco—or other smokable content—from escaping the cigarette and to regulate the air flow at the cigarette base.
[0006]It is an advantage of the invention to facilitate access to the contents of the package (i.e., cigarette papers) by having a rear flap which is easily raised. It is a related advantage of the invention to facilitate the raising of the rear flap by bending or folding one of the perforated segments to further facilitate access to the contents. It is yet another related advantage of the invention to facilitate the raising of the rear flap by bending or folding the rear flap to further facilitate access to the contents. It is still another related advantage of the invention to facilitate the raising of the rear flap with the aid of outer bilateral fold or score lines and an inner sliced segment to further facilitate access to the contents.
[0007]It is an advantage of the invention to provide access to a cigarette paper contained within the package by way of an aperture located at the top of the rear wall which partially exposes the cigarette paper for easier access.
[0008]It is yet another advantage of the invention to provide cigarette papers for use in conjunction with the above-mentioned cigarette paper dispensing package. It is a related advantage to provide a cellulose-glycerol cigarette paper composition which provides benefits such as, but not limited to, a slower burn with less ash and smoke, a milder taste, and also a more natural cigarette paper alternative compared to traditional cigarette paper which may contain synthetic chemicals potentially deleterious to human health or with other adverse or unwanted side effects. It is yet another related advantage to provide the cellulose-glycerol cigarette paper which acquires the self-adhering physical property after a water-based agent is applied, the paper is rolled, and then sealed with sufficient pressure.
[0009]It is still another advantage to provide at least one or more perforated segments of the rear flap of the cigarette paper dispensing package which may be used as a cigarette mouthpiece filter when the perforated segment is rolled and placed within the cigarette paper prior to rolling such that said cigarette paper is rolled with smokable contents and said rolled mouthpiece filter. It is yet another advantage for the mouthpiece filter to help prevent tobacco—or other smokable content—from escaping the cigarette and to regulate the air flow at the cigarette base.

Problems solved by technology

They are horizontally oriented and one such disadvantage is that a user may have difficulty grasping a single cigarette paper and instead typically grasp too many cigarette papers when all that is needed is a single cigarette paper for the purpose of rolling one's own cigarette.
Further, cigarette papers typically tear easily.
The cigarette paper, adhesive, and the like oftentimes have chemicals which potentially may cause the user adverse effects such as the experience of a bad taste and other adverse physical reactions.
Moreover, the adhesive sometimes weakens the cigarette paper when applied thereto, increasing the chances of an inadvertent tear in the cigarette paper when the user attempts to seal the paper containing the rolled contents with the adhesive.
This is yet another limitation to adhesive application on cigarette paper as opposed to a self-adhering alternative.
However, these mouthpiece filters have not been traditionally included as an integral part of the cigarette paper package and the user must purchase or otherwise acquire mouthpiece filters to incorporate them into the rolled cigarettes.
One limitation, however, is that the user must “disassemble” the rear wall of the dispenser package to reveal the “stacked accordion” of tip blanks.
Accordingly, the cigarette papers are exposed—not being secured at all by the package—and may easily spill out from the package.
Moreover, because all of the cigarette papers are fully exposed when the rear wall of the package is “open,” the user cannot easily take a single cigarette paper out from the dispenser—rather, the same problem with taking too many cigarette filter papers (when only one is desired) is present, just like the above-referenced envelope-like cigarette paper dispenser package.

Embodiment Construction

[0098]Cigarette papers for use in conjunction with the package are cellulose-glycerol cigarette papers which are self-adhering when a water-based agent is applied. The cigarette paper has a milder taste than other, more conventional cigarette papers and also provides a natural alternative to other synthetic cigarette papers. Advantages include a slower burn with less ash and smoke, a milder taste, and being able to use either side of the paper for sealing the cigarette since the cellulose-glycerol composition is self-adhering when wet with a water-based agent (including saliva)—in a preferred embodiment, the cellulose is naturally-occurring (i.e., not synthetically derived) combined with about 9% weight-by-weight concentration (hereinafter, “w / w”) glycerol or less to form preferably about a 24 gsm layer. Additionally, the cigarette paper is more tear-resistant than other forms of cigarette paper. The naturally-occurring cellulose forms the main ingredient of the cigarette paper. The...

Abstract

Cellulose-glycerol cigarette papers are described which has advantages such as milder taste, less chemicals, a slower burn with less ash and smoke, and also it is self-adhering when a water-based agent is applied. A cigarette paper dispensing package is also provided which enables easy access to a single cigarette paper. Tear-off mouthpiece filters are also integrally provided for within the package, while providing efficient dispensing of a single cigarette paper without spillage or grabbing too many inadvertently.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION[0001]This invention generally relates to cigarette paper and cigarette paper dispensing package for users who roll their own cigarettes. This invention particularly relates to a cigarette paper dispensing package having an improved access to cigarette paper contained therein and also an improved cigarette paper in terms of usability and composition for users who roll their own cigarettes.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION[0002]Cigarette papers are generally packaged in an envelope-type package (i.e., horizontally oriented). See, e.g., U.S. Pat. No. 7,159,717 to Aldridge et al., specifically FIGS. 1-12. They are horizontally oriented and one such disadvantage is that a user may have difficulty grasping a single cigarette paper and instead typically grasp too many cigarette papers when all that is needed is a single cigarette paper for the purpose of rolling one's own cigarette.[0003]Further, cigarette papers typically tear easily. Adhesive for cigarette papers is ofte...
