The appliance 20 can be any residential or commercial appliance, e.g., furnace, water heater, tankless water heater, oven, etc. The burner 10 can be a pre-mixed burner in which a mixture of air and combustible fuel, e.g., gas, is pre-mixed upstream of the burner or otherwise mixed prior to combustion so that no secondary air is needed.
