Abstract

The invention discloses a method for improving the capacity of a wireless communication system, which comprises following steps: (1) determining the block error rate BLER of a dynamic monitor system of a layer 2 at a transmitting terminal; and (2) releasing a radio bearer if the BLER is larger than or equal to a failure block error rate target value, or else keeping the radio bearer. The method can determine the service quality for a subscriber by monitoring the packet loss rate of the layer 2 at the transmission end, thereby reducing the quality report bandwidth of an air interface, processing subscribers with the poor channel quality in time and improving the system capacity.
