Abstract

The invention discloses a novel method for evaluating significance of network academic resources, and belongs to the technical field of the information management field. Aiming at the characteristics of the academic resources, the scheme provides a novel method for automatically evaluating the significance of the network academic resources based on SVM Ranking (Support Vector Machine Ranking). The method comprises two stages, namely a training stage and an application stage, wherein the training stage comprises that an expert labels relative significance of any two samples in a group of samples and then learns out an SVM Ranking model according to the labeled samples; and in the application stage, for any network academic resource, the trained SVM Ranking model can output a real number to represent the significance of the network academic resource. The SVM Ranking model is updated periodically, and the update each time is based on samples newly labeled by the expert. The significance of the network academic resources can be used for adjusting the rank ordering of retrieve results, so that results with similar correlation and high significance are ranked ahead.
