Abstract

The invention provides a method and a system for managing digital rights, and relates to the field of communication. The method for managing the digital rights comprises that: a DRM server receives a downloading request sent by a client, and the DRM server and charging support equipment interactively charge, authenticate and approve the client; the DRM server sends a license to the client according to positive results of authentication and approval, wherein the license comprises copyright licensing information, a resource address where the content required to be downloaded by the client is positioned, and a cipher key used for deciphering the content; and the client download the content in a content server according to the copyright licensing information and the resource address in the license, and the client deciphers the content through the cipher key for deciphering the downloaded content while downloading the content. In the method and the system, the client simultaneously downloads the content protected by copyright and deciphers the downloaded content through the cipher key for deciphering the content, namely the downloading, the deciphering and playing are simultaneously carried out so as to provide good service experience for a user.
