The method comprises the following steps of: setting a current threshold value which triggers the earphone button function, and setting the current fluctuation duration time of a microphone of the electronic device; resetting a timer of the electronic device; when the electronic device has a coming call or is in a conversation process, monitoring a processor of the electronic device in real time to acquire the current fluctuation value of the microphone; when the monitored current fluctuation value is more than the set current threshold value, starting timing by using the timer; and when timing time is less than the set current fluctuation duration time, notifying the processor to process the coming call or a conversation. By the method and the system, the earphone button function can be realized by accelerated induction of the microphone.
