This invention relates to applications of Chinese starjasmine stem aglycon, burdock aglycon and Chinese starjasmine stem glucoside as dibenzyl butyrolactone compounds to the preparation of medicaments for treating hepatitis viruses and particularly hepatitis C viruses. The three compounds can be also used for preparing liver protection food or healthcare product. The invention provides the new applications of the Chinese starjasmine stem aglycon, the burdock aglycon and the Chinese starjasmine stem glucoside. The study on tests on resisting hepatitis C viruses shows that the three compounds have very significant hepatitis C virus resisting activity and can serve as the sources of novel active components for developing the medicaments for resisting hepatitis viruses, the liver protection food and the healthcare product.
