Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver. One type, hepatitis C, is caused by the hepatitis C virus (HCV). It usually spreads through contact with infected blood. It can also spread through sex with an infected person and from mother to baby during childbirth.

Hepatitis c virus immunogenic compositions and methods of use thereof

The present disclosure provides immunogenic compositions comprising one or more T-cell epitope polypeptides, or a fusion polypeptide comprising two or more T-cell epitope polypeptides. The present disclosure provides a method for inducing an immune response to hepatitis C virus in an individual, the method comprising administering to the individual an immunogenic composition of the present disclosure.

Provided herein are compositions and methods that allow for controlled interaction between a target protein and a polypeptide to which a binding protein is fused. Compositions and methods utilize a target protein that binds to the hepatitis C virus protease inhibitor glaprevir to form a complex, and a Tn3 binding protein that specifically binds to the complex. The target protein is or is derived from a viral protease, such as an HCV NS3 / 4A protease.

Soluble hcv glycorotein e2 as a vaccine against hepatitis c virus

The present invention relates to the field of vaccination, in particular, of vaccination against hepatitis C virus (HCV). The present invention provides a composition comprising HCV glycoprotein E2 from strain GT4a.ED43, and optionally, further HCV glycoproteins E2 from other strains and / or an adjuvant. The glycoprotein can be soluble glycoprotein or it can be displayed on the surface of a nanoparticle. Alternatively, it provides a composition comprising a nucleic acid encoding HCV glycoprotein E2 from strain GT4a.ED43, and, optionally, from other strains. The composition is useful as a vaccine, e.g., for prophylactic vaccination against HCV. The invention also provides a method for producing said composition as well as HCV glycoprotein E2 from strain GT2b.2b5 and a nucleic acid encoding the same.

Novel hepatitis c virus (HCV) immunogens and uses related thereto

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) soluble fusion immunogens (sE1E2) that are derived from engineered or redesigned HCV sE1 and sE2 polypeptides and are configured to form a native-like E1E2 interface are provided that can be used in vaccine formulations. Also provided are related vaccine compositions that exhibit the engineered sE1E2 immunogen on a self-assembled nanoparticle scaffold after cleavage to a sE1E2 protein having a native E1E2 conformation. Also provided are methods of using the immunogens and vaccine compositions in methods for preventing or treating HCV infection.
