Abstract

The invention discloses a method for testing the size of an MAC address table of a switch product. The method comprises the following steps that: S1. tested equipment and a network packet tester are started, and any three ports in tested ports of the tested equipment are in one-to-one correspondence connection with three ports in test ports of the network packet tester, wherein the three ports of the network packet tester are respectively set as P1, P2 and P3; S2. a flow test mode of the P1 and the P2 is set as an opposite test mode, and the P1 is adopted as a learning port, the P2 is adopted as an action port, and the P3 is adopted as a monitoring port; S3. parameter information of the P1 and the P2 is configured; S4. after parameter configuration, flow test is performed; and S5. results are calculated, the number of frames over flown from the P3 is subtracted from the number of frames received by the P1, such that the size of the MAC address table of the tested equipment can be obtained, and then, the size of the MAC address table can be obtained, and the test is completed.
