Abstract

The invention proposes a heterogeneous-network switching method based on load balancing and QoS. The method targets at a problem of seamless switching under WiFi and UMTS heterogeneous networks and takes user service models into overall consideration and through performing normalization processing on QoS indexes of network access points, score is adjusted according to the load condition of the network access points so as to give a comprehensive score. An appropriate switching time is given according to score and service conditions, and a comparatively long evaluation time is given if services are under operation so as to prevent frequent switching which results in service interruption. The heterogeneous-network switching method based on the load balancing and QoS is capable of improving the throughput of a terminal, reducing the network time delay of the terminal and at the same time ensuring high throughput and stability at a system level so that the method has a great application prospect.
