A cross validation strategy is utilized for training an IVM model with the superior statistics mode recognition performance, accordingly, a nonlinear mapping relation between the rockburst evaluation index and the rockburst grade is established, model initial parameter setting and the training sample library are adjusted according to the training result, and the IVM model predicting the rockburst grade is finally established. By means of the method to predict the rockburst grade, the complex mechanical analysis or calculation is not needed, only the input feature vector of a sample to be predicted needs to be input in the prediction model, and then the prediction value of the rockburst grade can be obtained.
