The invention relates to a file transfer system and a method thereof. The file transfer system comprises a portal client, an extranet login server, a file transfer server, an IM Mars client and an intranet login server, wherein the portal client is connected with the extranet login server and is used for transmitting file data to be transferred; the file transfer server is used for linking the portal client and the IM Mars client, receiving the file data from the portal client and transmitting the file data to the IM Mars client; the IM Mars client is connected with the intranet login server and is used for receiving the file data from the file transfer server. According to the invention, compared to the prior art, the one-way transfer when transmitting the file is realized by connecting the two clients with the extranet login server and the intranet login server respectively, so as to ensure the security of the file.
