Problems solved by technology

Most of them are based on small samples or data limited to a single research institution, and ultimately cannot be widely verified in different data from different countries
Moreover, a considerable number of authors clearly have more than 10 years of follow-up data, but only compare the change of survival period of 5 years, which will undoubtedly bring about greater bias

Abstract

The present invention relates to biomarkers for prognosis of lung cancer. The inventor analyzed the gene expression microarray (GEP) data of 2,738 cases of lung cancer from multiple countries, and used statistical analysis methods to screen out 95 specific genes for the prognosis of lung cancer, of which 85 genes were first reported and related to lung cancer. The probability of survival is related to the probability of recurrence after surgery. The 95 genes were further subjected to univariate analysis, multivariate analysis and survival curve analysis, and finally 7 representative genes were screened out more accurately. The clinical data of lung cancer in many countries have proved that these specific gene markers can be very effectively used to predict the survival and recurrence rate of lung cancer patients, and patients can be divided into low, medium and high risk groups accordingly.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of prognosis of lung cancer, mainly the prediction of survival probability and postoperative recurrence probability of lung cancer. More specifically, the present invention relates to biomarkers for lung cancer prognosis and uses thereof. Background technique [0002] According to the report of CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians (2013; 63:11-30), the most authoritative medical journal in the world, there were 1.66 million new cases of cancer in the United States in 2013, and 580,000 people died of cancer. Among them, the mortality rate of lung cancer ranks first, with 163,000 people dying of lung cancer every year, and 246,000 new cases of lung cancer every year. Based on the estimate of 246,000 new lung cancer cases in the United States with a population of 310 million people, the number of new lung cancer cases in China with a population of 1.38 billion should be 1,095,000.
