Programming non-volatile memory

One or more programming operations are performed on a set of non-volatile storage elements. For example, the programming operations may include applying a set of programming pulses. A verify process is performed to determine which of the non-volatile storage element have reached an intermediate verify threshold but have not reached a final verify threshold. One additional programming operation at a reduced level is performed for the non-volatile storage elements that have reached the intermediate verify threshold but have not reached the final verify threshold, and those non-volatile storage elements are then inhibited from further programming. Non-volatile storage elements that have not reached the intermediate verify threshold continue programming. Non-volatile storage elements that reach the final verify threshold are inhibited from programming.

A method and system for performing optical proximity correction (OPC) on an integrated circuit (IC) chip design is disclosed. The system and method of the present invention includes dividing the IC chip into a plurality of local task regions, identifying congruent local task regions, classifying congruent local task regions into corresponding groups, and performing OPC for each group of congruent local task regions.By identifying and grouping congruent local task regions in the IC chip, according to the method and system disclosed herein, only one OPC procedure (e.g., evaluation and correction) needs to be performed per group of congruent local task regions. The amount of data to be evaluated and the number of corrections performed is greatly reduced because OPC is not performed on repetitive portions of the IC chip design, thereby resulting in significant savings in computing resources and time.

Process demand prediction for distributed power and resource management

Methods and systems for allocating resources in a virtual desktop resource environment are provided. A method includes making a prediction on the future demand for processes running on a distributed environment with several hosts. The prediction is based on the process demand history and includes the removal of historic process demand glitches. Further, the prediction is used to perform a cost and benefit analysis for moving a candidate process from one host to another, and the candidate process is moved to a different host when the cost and benefit analysis recommends such move. In another embodiment, the predictions on future process demand are used for distributed power management by putting hosts in stand-by mode when the overall demand decreases or by adding hosts to the distributed environment when the load increases.

Embedded catalyst for atomic layer deposition of silicon oxide

Catalyzed atomic layer deposition from a reduced number of precursors is described. A deposition precursor contains silicon, oxygen and a catalytic ligand. A hydroxyl-terminated substrate is exposed to the deposition precursor to form a silicon bridge bond between two surface-bound oxygens. The surface-bound oxygens were part of two surface-bound hydroxyl groups and the adsorption of the deposition precursor liberates the hydrogens. The silicon atom is also chemically-bound to one or two additional oxygen atoms which were already chemically-bound to the silicon within a same deposition precursor molecule. At least one of the additional oxygen atoms is further chemically-bound to the catalytic ligand either directly or by way of a hydrocarbon chain. Further exposure of the substrate to moisture (H2O) results in displacement of the additional oxygen which are replaced by hydroxyl groups from the moisture. The surface is again hydroxyl-terminated and the process may be repeated. The catalytic nature of the reaction enables the deposition to occur at low substrate temperatures. The chemically-embedded nature of the catalyst increases the deposition per cycle thereby reducing the number of precursor exposures to grow a film of the same thickness.

Network routing table and packet routing method

A routing table circuit for a router has one or more input ports and output ports for message communication. In the routing table circuit, one or more routing table memories store a plurality of routing table arrays. The routing table arrays are arranged hierarchically in levels, and each routing table array is associated with a predetermined subset of prefixes. Each routing table array has entries. The entries include a block default route pointer field to store a block default route pointer, if any, and a routing field. The route engine may access any level of table array by using a next level route pointer stored in the routing field. Using the block default route and the routing field, the present invention further reduces the number of memory accesses and the update cost for route insertion and deletion by identifying and skipping elements that do not require route updating.

Face recognition system

The face detection system and method attempts classification of a test image before performing all of the kernel evaluations. Many subimages are not faces and should be relatively easy to identify as such. Thus, the SVM classifier try to discard non-face images using as few kernel evaluations as possible using a cascade SVM classification. In the first stage, a score is computed for the first two support vectors, and the score is compared to a threshold. If the score is below the threshold value, the subimage is classified as not a face. If the score is above the threshold value, the cascade SVM classification function continues to apply more complicated decision rules, each time doubling the number of kernel evaluations, classifying the image as a non-face (and thus terminating the process) as soon as the test image fails to satisfy one of the decision rules. Finally, if the subimage has satisfied all intermediary decision rules, and has now reached the point at which all support vectors must be considered, the original decision function is applied. Satisfying this final rule, and all intermediary rules, is the only way for a test image to garner a positive (face) classification.

Advanced Receive Channel Architecture

This relates to an architecture of a receive channel circuit used during both a spectrum analysis phase and a touch panel detection phase. Various components of the receive channel can be used during both the spectrum analysis phase and the touch panel detection phase. For example, a plurality of digital signal mixers used in the receive channel circuit can be used to demodulate signals during both a spectrum analysis phase and a touch sensor panel detection phase. In addition, the number of digital mixers needed in the receive channel can be reduced by dividing groups of signals to be demodulated into multiple sets of signals and demodulating each set at different times. Furthermore, the size of a sine look-up table (LUT) used to generate sine waveforms can be reduced by taking advantage of the symmetry of the sine waveform. For example, a quarter of a sine waveform can be saved in the LUT and the remaining quadrants of the waveform can be derived based on the symmetry of the sine wave.
