Embodiment Construction

[0047] figure 1 An embodiment of a spectral computed tomography system for generating an image of an object is shown schematically and exemplarily. The spectral computed tomography system 17 comprises a support body 1 which is rotatable about an axis of rotation R extending parallel to the z-direction. Mounted on the support body 1 is a rotating device 2 comprising an X-ray tube and adapted to provide polychromatic radiation 4 for passing through an examination zone 5 of a spectral computed tomography system 17 . In this embodiment, the radiation device 2 is adapted to provide a conical radiation beam 4 as polychromatic radiation. In another embodiment, the radiation device 2 can be adapted to provide polychromatic radiation with another beam shape, eg with a fan beam shape. The radiation 4 passes through an object (not shown), such as a patient, in an examination region 5, which in this embodiment is cylindrical. After having passed through the examination region 5, the ra...

Abstract

The invention relates to a system (31) for generating spectral computed tomography projection data. A spectral projection data generation device (6) comprising an energy-resolving detector generates spectral computed tomography projection databased on polychromatic radiation (4), which has been provided by a radiation device (2), after having traversed an examination zone (5), and a reference values generation device generates energy-dependent reference values based on radiation, which has not traversed the examination zone. A spectral parameter providing unit (12) provides a spectral parameter being indicative of a spectral property of the radiation device based on the energy-dependent reference values. In particular, spectral properties of the radiation device can be monitored over time, wherein this information can be used for, for instance, correcting the spectral computed tomography projection data, and / or, if undesired spectral properties of the radiation device are indicated, triggering a replacement of the radiation device.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a system and method for generating spectral computed tomography projection data. The invention also relates to a computer program for controlling said system and a spectral computed tomography system comprising said system for generating spectral computed tomography projection data. Background technique [0002] US 2014 / 0072098 A1 discloses an X-ray system comprising an X-ray source for emitting X-ray radiation and a radiation detector for detecting the X-ray radiation after it has passed through an object to be examined. The x-ray system also includes a monitoring detector illuminated by radiation emitted by the x-ray source that has not yet passed through the subject, wherein the monitoring detector is configured as an energy-resolving detector that provides a current dose representative of the x-ray radiation energy-resolved current dose measurement data. [0003] To generate spectral computed tomography projection...
