Abstract

The method comprises the following steps: 1) the hydrocarbon generating quantity of a hydrocarbon source rock is evaluated based on a chemical dynamics method; 2) recovery of the original residual hydrocarbon quantity (S1) in the hydrocarbon source rock is carried out; 3) the hydrocarbon expulsion quantity (the hydrocarbon expulsion quantity=the hydrocarbon generating quantity-the residual hydrocarbon quantity) of the hydrocarbon source rock is evaluated based on a material balance method; 4) overpressure history recovery of the compacted oil source rock is carried out; and 5) the relationship between the hydrocarbon expulsion quantity and geological and geochemical parameters of the hydrocarbon source rock is built, and classification evaluation standards are defined.
