However, ACKs originating from retransmissions do not correctly reflect that a collision did not occur, and retransmission successes may be due to combining gains in Hybrid Automatic Repeat (HARQ)
[0015] None of the above solutions can effectively trigger and reasonably specify or configure the size of the competition window

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for triggering a listen-before-talk (LBT) random backoff mechanism in long term evolution licensed-assisted access (LTE LAA). The method comprises the steps of evaluating a current channel to obtain a first parameter representing a congestion state of the current channel, comparing the first parameter with a first threshold to obtain a first comparison result, and adapting the size of a contention window according to the first comparison result. The method further comprises the steps of comparing the first parameter with a second threshold to obtain a second comparison result, and adapting the size of the contention window according to the second comparison result. The first parameter is a packet error rate parameter or a collision parameter. The method innovatively uses the comparison between the first parameter representing the congestion state of the current channel and the threshold to correspondingly increase or decrease the size of the contention window according the comparison result, so that the fairness with other systems, such as a WiFi system, is guaranteed, the utilization rate of communication resources and the performance of the whole wireless communication system are also improved correspondingly.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to the field of wireless communication, and more specifically relates to a [0002] Used for triggering in Long Term Evolution Assisted Licensed Access (LTE LAA) [0003] A method for a random backoff mechanism for listen-before-talk (LBT). Background technique [0004] 3GPP is studying the feasibility of using LTE on the unlicensed frequency band and how to ensure the fair coexistence of the LTE system on the unlicensed frequency band and other technologies such as Wi-Fi on the same frequency band. In the RAN1#78bis meeting, the following consensus was reached: that is, the listen-before-talk (LBT: Listen-before-talk) mechanism is a clearly required function to meet the regulatory requirements in some areas / frequency bands of the LAA system, This is described in "RAN1Chairman's Notes for 78bismeeting". In the RAN1#80 meeting, the following four LBT schemes for LAA channel access are listed: [0005] - The fi...
