Abstract

The invention discloses an asset management method and an asset management system. The method comprises steps: a network element management layer sends an asset management request message to a network element agent; the network element agent sends the asset management request message to a base station network element; and then the base station network element, according to the asset management request message, generates an asset management document, and the asset management document is returned to the network element management layer through the network element agent. Compared with the related art in which a network element management layer performs information interaction with a base station network element through a local operation and maintenance layer, thus rendering twin asset management operations generated in the interaction process, the present solution omits the local operation and maintenance layer, changes the original three-layer networking structure to a two-layer networking structure, and upwardly transfers the original asset management function on the local operation and maintenance layer to the network element management layer, and the base station network element is managed directly by the network element management layer. The solution thereby simplifies a user operation process, improves the operation and maintenance efficiency, and also reduces the cost of human resources and the cost of hardware.
