The method comprises the following steps of: pre-dividing a software storage area and a redundant software storage area, wherein the software storage area is used for storing software of a vehicle controller and the redundant software storage area is used for storing remote upgrading software of the vehicle controller; after the vehicle controller is electrified and initialized, entering a guiding area of the software storage area to execute the software; checking whether an upgrading instruction exists or not; judging whether the upgrading instruction is a remote upgrading instruction, and if the judging result is positive, flashing the remote upgrading software to the redundant software storage area and carrying out program integrity verification on the flashed remote upgrading software; if the flashed remote upgrading software is integral, entering a guiding area of the redundant software storage area to execute the remote upgrading software after the vehicle controller is reset; and if the flashed remote upgrading software is not integral, entering the guiding area of the software storage area to execute the software after the vehicle controller is reset.
