Abstract

The invention relates to a superconducting magnet quenching protection system and a magnetic resonance system. The superconducting magnet quenching protection system comprises a superconducting magnet, a superconducting magnet container, an external coupling coil, and a quenching control device. The superconducting magnet comprises a superconducting coil, and is disposed in the superconducting magnet container. The external coupling coil is adjacent to the superconducting coil and is disposed outside the superconducting magnet container. The quenching control device is connected with the superconducting coil and the external coupling coil. The quenching control device can be used for detecting the quenching state of the superconducting coil, and triggering the coupling of the external coupling coil and the superconducting coil when the superconducting coil is in the quenching state, thereby transferring the magnetic energy of the superconducting coil to the external coupling coil, andavoiding the potential damages, caused by the large amount of heat generated by the superconducting coil, to the superconducting magnet. Moreover, most of heat caused by quenching will be dissipated outside the superconducting magnet container. For a superconducting magnet of a helium bath soaking type, the device can prevent the evaporation loss of a large amount of liquid helium.
