Embodiment Construction

[0046] Embodiments will now be described more fully with reference to the accompanying drawings in which certain embodiments are shown. However, other embodiments in many different forms are possible within the scope of the present disclosure. Rather, the following embodiments are provided by way of example so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete, and will fully convey the scope of the disclosure to those skilled in the art. Throughout the specification, like symbols refer to like elements.

[0047] Figure 5 An embodiment of a wireless communication system 2 in which embodiments of the present disclosure can be used is shown. The communication system is a telecommunication system comprising a core network (CN) 4 and a cellular radio access network (RAN) 3 , eg according to 3GPP standards. However, embodiments of the present disclosure may be used with any type of radio communication network, such as a wireless local area network (WLAN). The RAN 3 comprises a...

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a method performed in a radio device for transmitting a multi-carrier waveform comprising multi-carrier symbols. The method includes precoding S2 time domain waveforms of said multi-carrier symbols to a plurality of transmitter antenna elements of said radio device. Precoding S2 comprises switching S2b from using a first set of precoder weights S2a to using a second set of precoder weights S2c, said second set of precoder weights being different from said first set of weights. Said switching S2b is done by using at least one set of intermediate precoder weights during the pause between two symbols in the time domain. The method also includes transmitting S3 the precoded signal from the transmitter antenna unit.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to precoding performed in a radio device for transmitting a multi-carrier waveform comprising multi-carrier symbols. Background technique [0002] Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) has become a popular modulation system for wireless communications. The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) 5G standard may also use some variation of OFDM. OFDM includes modulation schemes based on OFDM, but where precoding is applied to the data applied to the subcarriers, such as Discrete Fourier Transform Spread (DFTS) OFDM. [0003] In OFDM, a wideband communication channel is divided into multiple narrowband subcarriers. Since each subcarrier is narrowband, the effect of frequency selectivity can be reduced, which can be eliminated if a cyclic prefix or guard interval is used, i.e. data transmitted on one subcarrier does not interfere with transmissions on other subcarriers The data. [0004] If you examine the s...
