Problems solved by technology

[0004] However, when the polarizing element is provided in the optical resonator, the length of the optical resonator increases
This increases the pulse width (i.e., the temporal width of the pulse increases), reduces the peak intensity of the laser light, or makes it difficult to miniaturize the optical resonator itself or the laser device

Abstract

To enable inhibition of an increase in pulse width and a decrease in peak intensity in a pulse laser, and to enable generation of a pulse laser that exhibits a stable polarization direction while achieving downsizing of an optical resonator and a laser device, in the case where an amorphous material is employed as a base material for a laser medium. The present invention provides a passive Q-switch pulse laser device that is provided with: a laser medium which is disposed between a pair of reflection means constituting an optical resonator and which, upon being excited by specific excitation light, releases emission light; a saturable absorber which is disposed between the pair of reflection means so as to be positioned on the optical axis of the optical resonator and on the downstream side of the laser medium, and the transmission factor of which increases in association with absorption of the emission light, wherein at least one of the pair of the reflection means is a polarizing element, and the polarizing element exhibits different reflectances with respect to emission light in mutually orthogonal polarization directions.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a passive Q-switch pulse laser device, processing equipment and medical equipment. Background technique [0002] In recent years, various laser devices have been developed. For example, Q-switched pulsed laser devices have been developed. A Q-switched pulsed laser device is a laser device capable of emitting pulsed laser light having a considerable level of energy or higher at predetermined intervals. For example, passive Q-switched pulsed laser devices have been actively developed, which utilize passive elements such as saturable absorbers to vary the Q factor. [0003] Incidentally, for example, in order to perform wavelength conversion using nonlinear optical crystals and to perform shape measurement using linearly polarized light, it is preferable to control and stabilize the polarization direction of laser light emitted from the laser device. As a method of controlling the polarization direction of laser light, for exam...
