The invention discloses an error detection method and a lightening fixture, which are used for a lightening detection application program of a liquid crystal screen. The error detection method comprises the following steps: when the lightening detection application program is executed for the first time, calculating error detection indexes of the lightening detection application program, and storing the error detection index into a nonvolatile memory where the lightening detection application program is located, wherein the error detection indexes comprise a standard cyclic redundancy check code, an error check and correction code and an indication code; according to the indication code, when the lightening detection application program is not executed for the first time, error detection is conducted on the lightening detection application program through the standard cyclic redundancy check code, and whether the lightening detection application program can be corrected or not is judged according to the error detection and correction code; and under a correctable condition, the error code of the lightening the detection application program is corrected by utilizing the error checkand correction code.
