The invention discloses a novel pharmaceutical application of quercetin. The new application is the application of quercetin in preparation of cancer radiotherapy sensitizing drugs. The application of quercetin in preparation of a radiotherapy sensitizer is provided for the first time, and the quercetin can effectively improve the radiotherapy sensitivity of tumor cells and improve the radiotherapy curative effect. The action mechanism of the quercetin is related to the capability of the quercetin in inhibiting androgen receptor (AR) and AR splicing variant 7 (ARv7) activating signal paths and increasing tumor cell DNA damage, and the quercetin has a wide application prospect.
