[0211] Example 1: Implants with Porous Lattice of Connected Skeletal Polyhedral Unit Cells Formed by SLS Printing
[0212] prepared as described herein figure 1 Implants shown. P4HB pellets (Tepha, Inc., Mw 480 kDa) were subjected to cryogenic milling followed by continuous sieving to yield a P4HB powder with a particle size of 40 to 60 microns. P4HB powders were made from P4HB pellets with an average size of 2 mm x 2 mm x 3 mm cooled to −70 °C and injected in a cryogenic mill in a high-speed cross-impingement path. The resulting powder was sieved using a 60 micron sieve shaker followed by a 40 micron sieve shaker to intercept particles larger than 60 microns and smaller than 40 microns. The sieved P4HB powder (40 to 60 micron particles) was then dried, flushed with nitrogen, and packed in foil. The moisture content of the P4HB powder is less than 650ppm. P4HB powder was loaded into the powder bed of a 3D selective laser sintering (SLS) printer. Set the thickness of the p...
