Abstract

Association management in a wireless node network. Methods and systems are disclosed for managing shipping of items using a wireless node network having at least one ID node, a plurality of master nodes, and a server. The server receives the registered ID node and shipping information of the item. The ID node may be associated with the first master node prior to pickup, wherein association information is sent to the server. The ID node may be disassociated from the first master node when it is associated with another master node along a predicted path traveled by the item and the ID node. The disassociation / association information is reported to a server that tracks ID node associations and locations. The ID node may be de-associated with the second master node when it is associated with the last master node along the predicted path traveled by the item and the ID node and after a departure event of the item.
