A ventilating device of a window type air conditioner includes: a ventilating hole formed in a partition that connects the room portion with the outdoor portion of the air conditioner; a first lever which moves forward and backward in the discharge grill and the room portion; a lever guide portion that prevents the first lever from being deviated when the first lever is moved forward and backward, maintaining the horizontal state of the first lever; a damper on the back end portion of the first lever that opens and closes the ventilating hole with the forward/backward movement of the first lever; and a second lever which is formed on the front end of the first lever and is received in the room portion of the body during the shipment of the product, but is rotated in a straight line with the first lever, by an artificial force, to be exposed to the exterior of a front panel in the front end portion thereof, after installation of the product.
