Embodiment Construction

[0050] Combine below Figure 1-4 A first embodiment of the present invention will be described. In this embodiment, an example in which the present invention is applied to an optical disc device is given.

[0051] figure 1 Shown is a schematic block diagram of the optical disc device according to this embodiment. The optical disc device 1 of this embodiment records information to and reproduces information from a writable optical disc 2 such as CD-R, DVD-R, DVD+R, and the like.

[0052] The optical disc device 1 includes a rotary motor 3 as a driving means for rotating an optical disc 2 and a laser beam source 4 as a light emitting element emitting a laser beam. A laser beam emitted from a laser beam source 4 is focused on the optical disc 2 by an optical system 5 .

[0053] The optical system 5 is, for example, comprising: a collimating mirror, which collimates the laser beam emitted from the laser beam source 4; a beam splitter, which deflects and separates the laser bea...

Abstract

An optical disk apparatus is disclosed. A light emitting element emits a laser beam directed to a recordable optical disk. A driver rotates the optical disk. A first optimum recording power obtaining part performs test recording on the optical disk while the optical disk is rotated by the driver and output power of the light emitting element is varied so as to obtain an optimum recording power based on a reproduction signal in a test recorded area. A temperature measuring part measures the temperature in the vicinity of the light emitting element. A memory stores the optimum recording power obtained by the first optimum recording power obtaining part and the measured temperature when the optimum recording power is obtained. A temperature-dependent recording power obtaining part refers to the optimum recording power and the associated temperature stored in the memory so as to obtain an optimum recording power according to the temperature measured by the temperature measuring part in real recording. A target recording power setting part sets the optimum recording power obtained by the temperature-dependent recording power obtaining part to a target recording power in the real recording.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to optical discs such as CD-R, DVD-R and DVD+R which use organic dyes as recording layers so that information can be written thereon. In this optical disc, the number of times of recording is one time (write once) based on the characteristics of the organic dye used as the recording layer. Background technique [0002] It is possible to record information on and reproduce information from such an optical disc by using a light emitting element that emits a laser beam and an optical disc device capable of appropriately changing the output power of the laser beam emitted from the light emitting element. For example, some conventional optical disc devices test the recording information of the optical disc before starting actual recording on the optical disc, and obtain the optimum recording power according to the characteristics of the reproduced signal obtained by reproducing the test recording area, so as to obtain the optim...
