Problems solved by technology

[0008] The disadvantage encountered with this method is due to the fact that the rigidity of the chip (on which the contacts are glued to the antenna contacts to establish the connection) can lead to cracks that are formed during the lamination step in the conductive ink that makes up the antenna
The consequence is that the connection between the chip and the antenna is sometimes disconnected, in all cases fragile and has the potential to break at any time, especially when subjected to external stress

Embodiment Construction

[0024] Such as figure 1 As shown in , the smart card according to the present invention includes an antenna base 10 . The base 10 is made of fiber material. The material is preferably paper. The antenna 12 is silk-screen printed on the base. The antenna consists of four concentric turns. Each end of the antenna 12 forms an antenna contact 14 or 16 . The turns and the antenna contacts are made with polymerizable conductive ink. According to a preferred embodiment, the ink is an epoxy ink doped with conductive elements such as silver, copper or carbon. A cavity 18 is formed in the antenna base by cutting. This cavity is used to accommodate the chip.

[0025] exist Figure 2a with 2b A front view of chip mount 20 is shown in . The base 20 is made of fiber material. According to a preferred embodiment, the fibrous material is paper. Two strips of polymerizable conductive ink 22 and 24 are screen printed on the base 20 . According to a preferred embodiment, the ink is ...

Abstract

A chip support screen printed with polymerizable conductive ink is mounted on an antenna support (10) so that the chip supported by chip support is positioned in cavity (18) of the antenna support and conductive ink contacts with antenna contacts (14,16) formed on antenna support. An Independent claim is included for a method of manufacturing a smart card.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of smart cards, and more particularly to a contactless smart card with a paper adapter. Background technique [0002] The smart card industry is in full swing. These tools that became ubiquitous in the form of bank cards and phone cards have seen a significant second growth with the development of new technologies and with contactless technology. New applications have indeed been invented, for example in the transport sector contactless smart cards have been developed as a means of payment for public transport systems as well as highway systems. Electronic wallets represent another application of contactless as a means of payment. Many companies have developed identification tools for their employees using contactless smart cards. [0003] Information exchange between the contactless card and the associated reader is effected by remote electromagnetic coupling between an antenna housed by the contactless ca...
