The present invention provides a method and system for generating interface code to use services of an enterprise information system. An application-specific information schema is provided that defines the format and shape of application-specific information usable in a business object schema that defines business objects and application-specific information for an enterprise information system. Also provided are enterprise metadata discovery patterns for locating application-specific information patterns to: composite types, elements, and attributes; and business object patterns. Use the metadata editor to generate the business object schema. Generate interface code using the Business Object pattern.
