Problems solved by technology

However, even if the fallen person is to be successfully raised and recovered, the problem remains of transporting him or her easily and safely to the surface so that he or she can be given appropriate emergency assistance should he or she be injured. Serve
Since the need to undertake a rescue is extremely rare, there are likely to be issues that could cause further delays, such as locating the rescue device, ensuring that the packaging containing the device is complete and that the rescue equipment is properly maintained

Embodiment Construction

[0069]In FIG. 1 , a first embodiment of a personal height rescue device is shown worn on the back of a person 1 who is performing ordinary work tasks at height. A person 1 wears a harness 2 which is firmly connected to the frame 3 in FIG. 2 by means of the straps 4 and 5 of the harness 2 passing through an opening 6 in the frame 3 . The straps 4 and 5 also pass through guides 7 and 8 which are part of or are connected to the personal height rescue device housing 9 in order to hold the personal height rescue device in place on the harness 2 . In Figure 1, a lanyard 10 is shown connected at one end to a ring 11 by means of a typical connection means shown as a snap clasp 12, while the other end of the lanyard 10 is connected to an anchor provided by a fall arrest system or single point anchorage. Safe anchorage. The ring 11 and the bracket 3 are solid parts connected together so that any load applied to the lanyard 10 is transferred to the harness 2 through the connection betwe...

Abstract

There is provided height rescue apparatus comprising a casing (9) which incorporates a bracket for attachment to a harness (2). The bracket can be releasably attached to a load element (11) which is attached to a safety line (10) which in turn can be attached to a secure anchorage. There is also a release means in the form of a pull cord (38) for releasing the load element (11) from the bracket (4) after a fall and speed control means for controlling the rate of deployment of an elongate element stored within the casing (9) and thus controlling the descent of a user (1).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a high-altitude rescue device for personnel connected with the anti-fall equipment to be lowered to a safe place after being braked and suspended at high altitude after falling. In particular, the invention relates to a personal height rescue device that is physically connected to a person working at height, and enables the person to descend to a safe place, whether it is the ground or or some other safe altitude. Background technique [0002] Personnel working at heights are often required to wear body harnesses. The body harness is wrapped around a portion of the wearer's body to ensure that the wearer's body is held securely within the body harness. The body harness is typically attached to one end of the lanyard, and then the other end of the lanyard is attached to a safety anchorage. An alternative arrangement is for the full body harness to be attached to a line that can be withdrawn from or retracted into a drum that ...
