3 results about "Albuminuria" patented technology

Albuminuria is a pathological condition wherein the protein albumin is abnormally present in the urine. It is a type of proteinuria. Albumin is a major plasma protein (normally circulating in the blood); in healthy people, only trace amounts of it are present in urine, whereas larger amounts occur in the urine of patients with kidney disease. For a number of reasons, clinical terminology is changing to focus on albuminuria more than proteinuria.

Predicting albuminuria using machine learning

An example embodiment may involve obtaining, by a computing system, an observation of demographic values of an individual, vital sign values of the individual, and blood test values of the individual: applying, by the computing system, a machine learning model to the observation, wherein the machine learning model was trained with a training data set, wherein the training data set contained observations of corresponding demographic values, vital sign values, blood test values, and either urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR) values or urine protein-to-creatinine ratio (UPR) values for a plurality of individuals, and wherein the machine learning model is configured to provide predictions of whether further observations are indicative of undiagnosed albuminuria or proteinuria; and providing, by the computing system, a prediction of whether the individual exhibits undiagnosed albuminuria or proteinuria based on the observation.

Use of a composition comprising a zinc salt and a cyclic histidine-proline as an effective ingredient for preventing, ameliorating or treating diabetic nephropathy

The present invention relates to a use of a composition comprising a zinc salt; and cyclohistidine-proline as an effective ingredient for preventing, ameliorating or treating diabetic nephropathy, and more particularly, to provide a composition comprising a zinc salt; and cyclohistidine-proline as an effective ingredient and a method for preventing, ameliorating or treating diabetic nephropathy using the same, wherein the composition exhibits a preventive, ameliorative or therapeutic effect on diabetic nephropathy through an effect of reducing albuminuria, reducing an albumin / creatinine ratio or increasing glomerular filtration rate when the composition is administered alone or in combination with an antihypertensive agent and / or an antidiabetic agent.

Methods for the treatment of proliferative glomerulonephritis

Inventors have explored the relevance of alpelisib in MRL / MpJ-Faslpr / J mice (referred here as MRL-lpr). a mouse model of lupus nephritis. MRL-lpr mice treated with alpelisib demonstrated less proteinuria compared to vehicle. More stinkingly, comparison of albuminuria before and after treatment introduction showed opposite trajectories. Indeed. MRL-lpr mice treated with alpelisib demonstrated proteinuria improvement arguing for a reversibility of the disease. At sacrifice. MRL-lpr mice treated with alpelisib had a tendency to have a lower kidney to body weight ratio compared to vehicle treated animals. Kidney examination showed that alpelisib was associated with no glomerular lesions compared to vehicle treated mice and an improved kidney function. Inventors conclude that alpelisib and more generally PIK3CA inhibition represent promising drugs for patients with proliferative glomerulonephritis. The invention relates to a method for treating proliferative glomerulonephritis in a subject in need thereof comprising a step of administering the subject with a therapeutically effective amount of a PIK3CA inhibitor.
