Multi-valving sample injection apparatus

A multi-function valve apparatus for use with a Probe-In-Loop (PIL) architecture sample injection assembly which enables both Partial-Fill and Complete-Fill injections. The rotor element is rotatable about a rotation axis relative the stator between: a Load Position, an Overfill Position, and an Injection Position. In the Load Position, a first bridge channel fluidly couples a metering syringe to the sample loop assembly enabling the probe to aspirate one of a discrete volume of sample into the probe, during a Partial-Fill Mode, and a second volume of sample into the probe, during a Complete-Fill Mode. In the Overfill Position, in the Complete-Fill Mode, a second bridge channel fluidly couples a downstream loop portion to a waste port, and the first bridge channel fluidly couples the metering syringe to an upstream loop portion of the sample loop assembly. This enables the metering pump to dispense the sample from the probe into the downstream loop portion and out the waste port to completely fill the downstream loop portion and the second bridge channel with a substantially precise known volume. In the Injection Position, the second bridge channel fluidly couples the downstream loop portion to the analyzing device to inject the sample into the analyzing device, in either the Partial-Fill Mode or and the Complete-Fill Mode.

Variable-vortex air inlet passage of multi-valve engine

The invention discloses a variable-vortex air inlet passage of a multi-valve engine, and belongs to the technical field of air inlet systems of internal combustion engines. The variable-vortex air inlet passage comprises an air inlet manifold, a first air inlet passage, a second air inlet passage, an air inlet adjusting channel, a vortex adjusting valve and a vortex adjusting valve shaft. The air inlet manifold is connected with the first air inlet passage and the second air inlet passage; the first air inlet passage is communicated with the second air inlet passage via the air inlet adjusting channel; the vortex adjusting valve is mounted in the air inlet adjusting channel; the vortex adjusting valve is fixed onto the vortex adjusting valve shaft and rotates around the center of the vortex adjusting valve shaft; the opening of the vortex adjusting valve can be changed along with change of working conditions of the engine. Compared with the prior art, the variable-vortex air inlet passage has the advantages that the shortcoming of deterioration of the flow capacity of an existing air passage due to severe throttle effects which are realized for airflow in the existing air passage by an air valve during variable-vortex adjustment can be overcome; pumping loss of the engine can be greatly reduced; vortex in a cylinder can be conveniently controlled by the engine under the different working conditions, combustion can be organized, and the excellent fuel economy, dynamic performance and emission performance can maintain.
