Abstract

The invention provides an LED matrix device which is suitable for the photoelectric display field. The device comprises a sequential circuit, a data driving circuit, a scanning driving circuit and an LED matrix. A display unit at the cross-point of the row and the line of the LED matrix comprises one infrared LED and one or more than one visible-light LED. The sequential circuit generates control signals to control the data driving and scanning driving circuits so as to respectively drive the infrared LED and the visible-light LED. Furthermore, the sequential circuit generates a group of signals including the line and row information of the driven infrared LED to provide the information for an external light-pen device to decode the present position of the light-pen. The function of the visible-light LED in the device is the same with that of the existing LED matrix, and the infrared LED part generates the position information required by the light-pen. Generally, the display of the LED is formed by a plurality of LED matrixes which are arranged in series, therefore, the interface of the light-pen of the invention is also provided with the series connecting function.
