Problems solved by technology

However, the method of obtaining differently coded sequences by changing the puncturing pattern of the transmitter may add complexity, since both the transmitter and the receiver should use not one puncturing pattern, but several puncturing patterns
Also, it's hard to find a perforated pattern with the same performance

Embodiment Construction

[0045] The following is a detailed description of a preferred embodiment of a communication system according to the present invention and a method for processing signals in the communication system with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0046] Assume that the order of the encoded bit sequence of the related art turbo encoder is X k Y 0k Y 1k x k 'Y 0k 'Y 1k ', in the present invention, the order of the encoding bit sequence of the turbo encoder can be X k 'Y 0k 'Y 1k 'X k Y 0k Y 1k , or X k Y 0k 'Y 1k 'X k 'Y 0k Y 1k , and X k Y 0k Y 1k x k 'Y 0k 'Y 1k '.

[0047] refer to figure 1 , a parallel-connected turbo encoder of a turbo code consists of two component encoders, and an interleaving unit interposed between them.

[0048] Both compositional encoders are recurrent systematic convolutional encoders and have the same performance. The first component encoder will input the value X k Output without change, and output two parity bits ...

Abstract

The invention provides a communication system and a method for transmitting signals therein, a pair of turbo codes having the same performance are generated from an information bit sequence by varying an output order of a turbo code generator. A preferred punching mode is utilized to punch a coding bit sequence, the resultant sequence has the same error correction performance and can be used whena transmit diversity method or a H-ARQ method is employed, in order to enhance the performance of the system. When the transmit diversity is utilized to transmit differently-coded bit sequences, a receiver can obtain coding combination gains and maximum ratio combination gains by means of combining the differently-coded bit sequences.

Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application of the patent application submitted on June 18, 2001 with the application number 01118822.7 and the title of the invention "communication system and method for sending signals therein". technical field [0002] The present invention relates to the third generation mobile communication system. More particularly, the present invention relates to a communication system and method for turbo encoding and decoding of data. Background technique [0003] In a nutshell, the next-generation mobile communication system based on Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) mode supports high-speed data transmission of Mbps and does not require 10 -5 ~10 -6 very low packet error rate. However, there are various limitations in applying the convolutional coding scheme commonly used in existing communication systems to high-speed data transmission. In this regard, a turbo coding mode is widely used in order to maintain a low packet error rate e...
