Embodiment

[0047] First, in the embodiments introduced in the present invention, each calculation step is performed in the frequency domain. In other words, all data is sampled in the frequency domain. There are two directions in the frequency domain, one is the direction of the frequency axis, and the other is the direction of the time axis. In an embodiment of the present invention, the frequency selective attenuation caused by multipath in the time domain can be eliminated according to the frequency response of an OFDM signal in the direction of the frequency axis, while the Doppler shift caused by The time selective fading of can be eliminated according to the frequency response of several OFDM signals in the direction of the time axis. The following paragraphs will describe various embodiments of the present invention in detail.

Abstract

This invention discloses a channel estimation method and a channel estimation apparatus. The channel estimation method comprises following steps: Firstly, a plurality of symbols is received from a channel. Then, channel frequency responses on the pilot symbols are estimated. Next, linear interpolation is performed in time direction. Next, channel attribute of whether the channel is time invariant or time variant is determined according to the amplitudes of a series of continuous pilot symbols. Therefore, estimated channel frequency responses is passed into a filter when the channel is determined as time invariant, and finally, linear interpolation in frequency direction is performed to obtain a two dimensional channel frequency response in both time direction and frequency direction. When the method estimates that the channel is time invariant, through utilizing IIR filter to filter the high frequency noise prior to executing linear interpolation in frequency direction, thereby achieving better channel estimation results.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a channel estimation method, in particular to a channel estimation method applicable to an OFDM communication system. Background technique [0002] Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a multi-carrier modulation digital modulation technology, which uses a large number of adjacently distributed orthogonal sub-carriers to transmit signals to effectively use spectrum. Signals transmitted by each sub-carrier are modulated using traditional low data rate modulation techniques, such as quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM). In practical application, the OFDM signal is generated by a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithm. [0003] The main advantage of OFDM is that it can properly handle severe channel attenuation conditions without using multiple equalization filters, such as the attenuation of high-frequency signals in long copper wires, narrow-band inter-channel interference, and multipath (multipath) Fre...
