Embodiment Construction

[0049] FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of a grill 20 and has a front F and a rear R. As shown in FIG. The front and rear of all components of the grill will be indicated by F and R, respectively, in all drawings. The grill 20 has a body 22 on casters 26 with a pair of doors 24 that open forward. Gas cylinders 27 are located within the body 22 and are accessed via the door 24 . The grill 20 also includes a series of burner controls 28 mounted behind the hinged panel 30 . The grill 22 also includes a cover 32 having a handle 34 that is hingeable towards the rear of the grill 20 from the position shown in FIG. 1 .

[0050] Opening the hood 32 in this manner provides access to a pair of rectangular grill plates 36 as best shown in FIG. 2 . The grill plate 36 extends from the front to the rear of the grill 20 . A pair of gas rail burners 38 are mounted below each of the grill plates 36 .

[0051] As best shown in FIGS. 3-5 , the grill plate 36 includes a series of longitudinal ridg...

Abstract

A barbeque (20) comprising at least one grill plate (36), at least one gas burner (38) and a drainage arrangement. The at least one grill plate (36) extends between a front end and a rear end and has an upper surface. The at least one gas burner (38) extends between a front end and a rear end, with the front end of the at least one burner (38) being inward of the front end of the at least one grill plate (36). The drainage arrangement directs fluid from the upper surface of the at least one grill plate (36) to beneath the least one burner (38). The drainage arrangement is positioned inwardly of the front end of the at least one grill plate (36) and outwardly of the front end of the at least one burner (38).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to improvements in barbecue grills. [0002] The present invention was primarily developed for use with gas grills having orbital burners and will be described hereinafter with reference to this application. Background technique [0003] Many types of gas grills are known. For example, grills are known having a rectangular grill plate located above a rectangular or rail-type gas burner. The orbital burners are generally rectangular and extend between the front and rear ends of the rectangular grill plate. To provide space for burner control valves etc. in the front of the grill, the horizontal distance between the front end of the burner and the grill plate is often greater than the horizontal distance between the rear end of the burner and the grill plate. As a result, the burners do not heat the grill plates evenly, and the rear of the grill plate becomes hotter than the front of the grill plate. This causes uneven c...
