The invention discloses a method for preparing punicalagin and ellagic acid from pomegranate rind, comprising the following steps of: preparing materials; extracting; filtering; concentrating; extracting 4 times; concentrating; drying; acidifying; hydrolyzing; purifying; and finally, obtaining punicalagin and ellagic acid, wherein the punicalagin has high purity above 40 percent and yield of 11:1, and the ellagic acid has high purity above 90 percent and yield of 21:1. The method can sufficiently use production waste liquid obtained after the extraction of pomegranate rind total phenolics andthe punicalagin as a raw material to prepare the high-purity ellagic acid and has positive actions for sufficiently using natural product resources, increasing added values of farm products, lightening environmental protection pressure and reducing industrialized production cost.
