Problems solved by technology

[0006] However, US2005 / 0143708 discloses a relatively complicated process for manufacturing tampons with withdrawal aids
Furthermore, during withdrawal of the tampon disclosed in US2005 / 0143708 from the vagina, the user may find the tampon relatively long because the inverted withdrawal aid extends away from the absorbent body

Embodiment Construction

[0037] As previously stated, the present invention relates to vaginal tampons. Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0038] Figure 1a shows a side view of a first embodiment of a tampon 1 according to the invention and Figure 1b showing along Figure 1a The sectional view of the first embodiment of the tampon 1 in the line Ib-Ib. The tampon 1 comprises an elongated absorbent body 2 enclosed in a liquid-permeable cover 3 . The cover 3 minimizes linting of the absorbent body 2 . exist Figure 1a In the first embodiment shown, the absorbent body 2 has a generally cylindrical shape. However, the absorbent body 2 may alternatively have any suitable shape such as conical, pointed, cup, banana, etc. shapes. Furthermore, the tampon 1 has an insertion end 4 and a withdrawal end 5 . The insertion end 4 may have any suitable shape such as a rounded shape ( Figure 1a ), blunt shape (not shown) or pointed shape...

Abstract

The present invention relates to a tampon (1) comprising an absorption body (2) enclosed in a cover (3). The tampon has an insertion end (4) and a withdrawal end (5) and further comprises at least one withdrawal string (6). The cover comprises a plurality of first invertible flaps (10) and / or a plurality of second invertible flaps (20). Each first invertible flap is constituted by a portion of the cover and is arranged to be moved between a first initial position and a first inverted position during withdrawal of the tampon out of the vagina of a user so as to aid the withdrawal. Each second invertible flap is constituted by a portion of the cover and is arranged to be moved between a second initial position and a second inverted position during insertion of the tampon into the vagina of a user so as to aid the insertion.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a tampon having an elongate absorbent body at least partially enclosed within a liquid permeable cover, the tampon having an insertion end and a withdrawal end and further comprising at least one withdrawal string extending from the withdrawal end. Background technique [0002] Menstrual tampons for intravaginal use are well known and have been used for a long time. Because tampons are worn internally, they are considered discrete and extremely comfortable to wear, lacking an outer protective device such as the barrier plastic backing of a sanitary napkin. However, removing a tampon can cause severe discomfort or even pain during periods of light menstrual flow or when changing tampons after short-term use. This is because tampons absorb menstrual flow as well as moisture from the mucous membranes lining the vaginal wall. When the tampon is removed, it tends to stick to the vaginal walls, which increases friction and ...
