Abstract

The invention discloses a polarization shift keying demodulation method and a system. The method comprises the steps of: splitting a single-frequency continuous laser wave beam in an adjusted polarization state into a horizontal polarized light wave beam and a vertical polarized light wave beam which are orthogonal to each other, and conducting polarization shift keying modulation to one light wave beam to form a polarization shift keying modulated light wave beam; keeping the polarization state of the other light wave beam to be unchanged and using the other light wave beam as a reference light wave beam for the polarization shift keying modulated light wave beam; combining the polarization shift keying modulated light wave beam with the reference light wave beam, successively conducting power amplification, filtration and transmission, filtering carrier signals, converting into light current, then converting into light voltage and judging in a voltage comparator to obtain data corresponding to polarization shift keying modulation signals. By using the polarization shift keying demodulation method and the system, matched dynamic polarization control is not required during demodulation judgment at a receiving end, a transmitting end is not required to conduct differential encoding to the data and the complexity of the transmitting end is reduced; and a local light source is not required, the requirements on the accuracy and stability of a light path are reduced and the cost is saved.
