The method includes: step 1 gathering more than one character input on the word input interface; step 2 generating a candidate word list and leading continuous characters capable of being combined into words and phrases in the candidate word list to generate combined words and phrases which comprise two or more than two words; step 3 performing independent sequence marks on independent words in candidate words and phrases and outputting the marks in the candidate word list; and step 4 gathering the independent sequence marks input by users and outputting corresponding words in the corresponding combined words and phrases. By means of the method and the system, words and phrases composed of two or more than two words can be input in the word input interface, each word in the words and phrases is set with a single identification code, and users can achieve input of words by inputting the identification codes.
