Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention provide an information transmission method, base station, and user equipment (UE). The method comprises: after the broadcast of an Earthquake and Tsunami Warning System (ETWS) message is finished, generating a paging message; and broadcasting the paging message, the paging message being used for instructing a UE in an ETWS message monitoring state to receive a system information block, and the system information block not carrying scheduling and mapping information of an ETWS primary notification message PN and an ETWS secondary notification message SN. In the embodiment of the present invention, the UE receives a paging message broadcasted by the base station, and actively receives a system information block that does not carry scheduling and mapping information of an ETWS primary notification message PN and an ETWS secondary notification message SN, so that the UE stops monitoring the ETWS message, thereby effectively reducing the power consumption of the UE.
