Abstract

The invention discloses a distortion characteristic estimation method predistortion device and a method thereof which are applied to a broadband mobile communication system. The device comprises a predistorter and a power amplifier. The predistorter is used for the predistortion of an input signal of the power amplifier. The device also comprises a training signal generator used for generating a training signal and transmitting the generated training signal to the predistorter, and a distortion estimator used for utilizing the training signal generated by the training signal generator to extract a power amplifier distortion characteristic before the working of the predistorter to obtain the inverse characteristic of the power amplifier distortion characteristic, wherein the initial state parameters of the predistorter are calculated through the inverse characteristic and are stored in the predistorter. By employing the device and the method, memory distortion and nonlinear distortion can be eliminated at the same time, the convergence speed and accuracy can be raised, and in the condition that a sampling clock synchronization error is large, the good performance can be maintained.
