Embodiment 1

[0024] 30 weaned, healthy 3.5-4 month-old Ujimqin castrated male lambs (castrated about 40 days after birth) were randomly divided into 5 groups according to the principle of homogeneity (weight 21.86±0.38kg): barn feeding group (0H , control), grazing for 2h group (2H), grazing for 4h group (4H), grazing for 8h group (8H), and all-day grazing group (12H). The trial started at the end of June and ended at the end of September. During the whole test period, the 4 grazing groups went out to graze at 6:00 every morning, and returned to herd at 8:00, 10:00, 14:00, and 18:00 according to the groups, and the walking distance of the flock was 2.23, 3.43, and 5.05 , 6.11km. The house-feeding group was housed in the farmer's home, and the diet was composed of commercial concentrate (produced by Inner Mongolia Zhengda Feed Co., Ltd., 586) and grain grass and hay. The 4 grazing groups received supplementary feeding in 4 different pens after returning to grazing, and the composition of ...

Embodiment 2

[0035] Example 2 Effects of time-limited grazing plus supplementary feeding on lamb body weight gain and feed utilization efficiency

[0036] Using the same experimental design as Example 1, the lamb individual fasting weight was weighed at the end of each month in July, August and September, and the daily gain, feed conversion rate and economic benefits were calculated. the result shows:

[0037] (1) There was no significant difference in the end-of-month body weight in July, August, and September in each treatment group (P>0.05), but the daily gain in July decreased significantly with the prolongation of grazing time (P0.05); in August, the daily gain of each group reached the maximum, and the 4H, 8H, and 12H groups were significantly higher than (P= 0.045) house-feeding and 2H groups; in September, the daily gain of house-feeding group was significantly higher (P0.05) ( figure 1 , the data columns marked with different letters in the figure indicate significant differences...

Abstract

The invention provides a free-range raising method for producing mutton rich in functional fatty acids which has the key points that adequate exercise is combined; and selective feeding of lambs is regulated and controlled, so that diet composition of the mutton is more beneficial for promoting deposition of carcass functional fatty acids. The free-range raising method aims at fat lambs at age of 4 months, which are raised in a typical grassland region in a natural free-range mode; the fat lambs are grazed for 4 hours and walk for 3km every day under the supplementary feeding condition, so that content of n-3 fatty acid in the lamb mutton is obviously increased and particularly, deposition of functional fatty acids of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is obviously improved; and meanwhile, the raising method also can be used for promoting play of potential productivity of the lambs and improving economic benefits. Application of the method can provide method guidance for production of high-quality mutton in the lamb industry and simultaneously also can provide technological approaches for transformation of a modern grassland grazing management system.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the field of animal husbandry, and in particular relates to a sheep feeding and grazing management method. Background technique [0002] Meat food is an important source of human nutrients and is closely related to survival and life. With the gradual improvement of living standards, obesity and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases continue to plague people. This has led to a growing awareness of the importance of diet to life and health. At present, it is generally believed that the amount of saturated fatty acids and trans fatty acids should be reduced in the daily diet, while the amount of unsaturated fatty acids, especially n-3 series fatty acids, should be increased (World Health Organization (WHO), 2003). This series of fatty acids has important physiological and biochemical functions such as anti-arteriosclerosis, obesity prevention, and anti-cancer (Cabiddu et al., Managing mediterranean pastures in order to enh...
