Between the seat occupancy sensor 22 and the controller 23 is provided a switch 24 which is switched on and off depending on whether the seat back 11 is in the seating position, that is, in an almost upright position, and thus passes the seat The occupancy sensor 22 prevents or does not prevent the output unit 21 from being activated. Therefore when switch 24 is turned on (see figure 1 and figure 2 ) output unit 21 can be activated by seat occupancy sensor 22, when switch 24 is off (see image 3 and Figure 4 ) output unit 21 cannot be activated by seat occupancy sensor 22 . Abstract

An output device with an output unit for issuing a warning notice is provided. The output device comprises a seat occupancy sensor which is connected with a control device for activating the output unit and which is designed, in case a safety belt on a rear seat comprising a foldable back rest has not been applied, to activate the output unit via the control device. The output device comprises a switch or button which is designed to block activation of the output unit by the control device, if the back rest is not in a sitting position.
