Abstract

The invention provides a method and a device for predicting a gas outburst area, and relates to the technical field of coalfield gas outburst disaster prediction. The method comprises the steps of: acquiring seismic wave imaging data, seismic prestack inversion data and layer data of a target layer within a preset spatial range; determining a first coal bed area and a second coal bed area within the preset spatial range according to the seismic wave imaging data, seismic prestack inversion data and layer data; determining a superposition area of the first coal bed area and the second coal bed area as an area to be determined, wherein the probability of geological disaster in the area to be determined is higher than that in other areas; and determining whether the area to be determined is a gas outburst area according to logging data of the area to be determined, thereby solving the technical problem of low preset precision caused by single prediction mode when the gas outburst area of a coal mine is predicted in the prior art.
