Embodiment Construction

[0019] figure 1 A flowchart of a method according to an exemplary embodiment is shown. The method is a method for managing wireless devices in a wireless medical body area network MBAN. The wireless MBAN can be targeted to a single patient and to all or only a subset of wireless devices, such as sensors and one or more hubs (eg, monitor, master device). The following method steps 110-130 may be in any order, but the first three steps may be used for wireless MBAN pairing and setup. Thus, initially performing these three steps 110-130, the subsequent steps 210-220 may be performed in any order.

[0020] The first step 110 may be to configure a wireless MBAN network based on all wireless devices of a medical body area network comprising at least one sensor and at least one hub, said configuration including sharing identification data, battery status and communication performance. In the steps of pairing and setting up the wireless MBAN to manage the wireless MBAN, a pluralit...

Abstract

The present invention provides a method for managing wireless devices in a wireless medical body area network MBAN, comprising: based on all wireless devices of said MBAN, by sharing identification data, battery status and communication between wireless devices of said wireless MBAN performance to configure the MBAN, wherein the MBAN includes at least one sensor and at least one hub; provides at least short-range communication and long-range communication to a plurality of wireless devices; and configures a first wireless device of the wireless MBAN based on battery status and communication performance become the master device. Thereafter, the method includes: if the battery status and communication performance of the main device drops below a second wireless device of the wireless MBAN, configuring the second wireless device as a new main device; and The battery status and communication capabilities of the wireless devices of the wireless MBAN, routing data transmissions within the wireless MBAN.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a wireless medical body area network (medical body area network, MBAN) and a method for managing the wireless MBAN. More precisely, the invention relates to a wireless MBAN and routing data within said MBAN, and optionally to a second network. Background technique [0002] Patients can be monitored by sensors connected by cables to a hub. The hub can be connected to the hospital's infrastructure. In this way, patients can be monitored. A network of sensors around the same patient and used to monitor that patient, together with a hub, is called a Medical Body Area Network, or MBAN for short. In this network, sensors send data to a hub, and the hub sends data to the hospital's infrastructure. Monitoring vital signs is an important part of patient care, as a patient's overall or specific health is determined through the measurement and interpretation of key physiological indicators. Patient health parameters include b...
